Why Elevate Your Home?

Raising your home above Base Flood Elevation is the most permanent protection there is against rising water. It also pays you back in ways most repairs never do.

01

Protection From Future Floods

Your home is lifted above Base Flood Elevation, typically at least one foot higher than your municipality requires, so the next storm passes underneath instead of through your living room.

02

Lower Flood Insurance Premiums

Elevating above BFE can significantly reduce what you pay for flood insurance year after year. We review how elevation certificates affect your rates during your consultation.

03

Boost Value and Curb Appeal

New foundation, block walls or columns, stairs, decks, flood vents, stucco and rail options. An elevated home done right looks like it was built that way.

04

A Headache Free Process

Engineering, CAD drawings, elevation certificates and permits are complicated. We manage all of it for you and keep you informed from the first measurement to the final walkthrough.

We Walk You Through the Process

Most elevation projects take 60 to 90 days start to finish, and you are usually only out of your home for one to two days. Here is how it works.

  1. Free Consultation

A Certified Structural Technician inspects and measures your home, reviews your floor plans, and verifies your home is structurally sound and can be safely lifted.

  2. Plan, Engineering and Permits

We develop a project plan with a CAD drawing, secure engineering review and approval, and handle elevation certificates and permits with your municipality.

  3. The Lift

Our unified lifting system raises your home safely and evenly, from a few inches up to 20 feet, with utilities disconnected and reconnected on a tight schedule.

  4. Build Back and Curb Appeal

New foundation and support system, then your choice of finishes: block walls, columns, stucco, stairs, decks, wrought iron rails and aluminum flood vents.

Home Elevation Questions, Answered

Is home elevation safe?

Yes, when it is done by a qualified contractor that understands the entire process. Olshan lifts homes with a unified lifting system, and every project is designed by an engineer and approved by your municipality before a shovel ever touches the ground.

How high can my home be lifted?

From just inches above your existing grade up to 20 feet. If your home sits in a governing municipality, your Base Flood Elevation certificate determines the required height, which is usually at least one foot above BFE.

Can my type of home be elevated?

Slab homes, pier and beam homes, and block and base homes can all be lifted, including post tension slabs, as long as the home is built to standard construction specs and is structurally sound.

Do I have to move out during the project?

Usually only for one to two days while utilities are disconnected and reconnected. The elevation portion of the project typically takes 60 to 90 days overall.

Will insurance, FEMA or grants help pay for it?

Programs change over time and vary by area. During your free consultation we review our payment options along with what we have seen historically in grant programs and other opportunities for financial assistance.
